CICA is a non-profit civil association affiliated with AmCham Costa Rica, an institution with a highly recognized trajectory and reputation, which guarantee its moral and professional reliability, as well as its long-term continuance. The services of CICA are offered without any distinction to businesses affiliated with AmCham as well as to those businesses that are not. The Center relies on the permanent assistance of its Consultative and Academic Committees and has endorsed agreements of cooperation with the International Section of the American Arbitration Association The Directive of CICA is made up of recognized lawyers.
CICA makes particular emphasis on conciliation and arbitration, mechanisms that achieves resolutions in 95% of all controversies. In this sense, the Rules of CICA, as differentiated from any other center of arbitration in the country, rely on an autonomous procedure of conciliation and, also, include a phase of conciliation inserted within the arbitration process.
Conciliation permits resolutions of any controversy in a few weeks and through a one-time payment equal to US$ 800.00 (including up to 3 hours of pre-paid conciliation).
Arbitration in CICA permits an impartial and effective solution, in a maximum of 7 months to any commercial dispute.
The CICA clauses have been incorporated by numerous groups of businesses linked to the banking, advertising and marketing, real estate, construction, and commercial sectors in general.
The payments made to CICA include the administrative costs of the Center, as well as the fees of the conciliators and arbitrators.
The tariffs of CICA are highly competitive.
